Located in the Almeria Province of Spain, "Finca Solana" is a large Country House full of immense character and charm, along with all modern luxuries and comforts. The setting is typically rural with lots of small sleepy villages close by with the bustling town of Albox 20 minutes away. There is a lot to see and do. On one day, a trip to the sparkling and beautiful Beaches of the Levante Coast and another, spent wandering around romantic Castles/Palaces.
Activities on your doorstep: Tandem Flying, Local Diving School, Organized Walks. A little further afield you can try the Water Park and also Horse Riding. There are 2 typically Spanish Restaurants nearby: one with incredible views and another a few kilometres further down the road. Both offer formal Dining or "Tapas".
If you are feeling very lazy, your spectacular Private Pool is waiting for you to soak up the sun, sit back and enjoy the serenity and beauty of your Holiday location.
Birdwatching
These are the comments made by our Birdwatching visitors:
The birds we definitely identified from your garden or the immediate vicinity were:- blackbird, house sparrow, carrion crow, blackcap, green woodpecker, pied flycatcher, wheatear, swallow, swift, jay, golden oriole, hoopoe, bee eater, woodchat shrike, quail, red legged partridge, crested lark, calandra lark. We didn't see your little owl but we did see one on the way to Velez Rubio. We saw two birds of prey but were only able to identify one which I think was a Bonnelli's Eagle which is quite common in your part of Spain and smaller than a golden eagle. We also saw one bird quite clearly but are not sure what it was. From memory and the notes made at the time our best guess from looking at our books is a Sardinian warbler - sounds quite exotic but they are apparently summer visitors to southern Spain. If you're not familiar with all of these I think you'll be quite impressed with what's there as some of them are quite spectacular. There were also several other birds which we didn't see long enough to identify and are not good enough to do it by song alone.
We have a resident Birdwatching Group in the area, please let us know if you would like to join them during your stay.
